Adjustments for the 2020 Season (In response to COVID-19)

We have had to put our thinking caps on. How do we enjoy the traditions we know and love safely? We adjust. We maintain the favorites where we can maintain social distancing and we reduce local area crowding.

HAYRIDES
❥    We will be running three wagons this year instead of one to reduce the number of individuals per wagon and ride wait times
❥    There will be a number system, so you don’t have to stand in line for your group’s turn
❥    Loading will be relocated so boarding lines and departure lanes can be managed for safe spacing

SCAVENGER  HUNTS
❥    There will be three versions this year: The Favorite Scavenger Hunt, The Fall Friends Trail, and The Scarecrow Contest

 ❥    This is a spaced-out, outdoor activity.

HARVEST MAZE
❥    Back in its former glory and location
❥    The number of people in the MAZE will be limited at all times to promote social distancing

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
❥    Photo opportunities that do not have participant touch points will be kept and others added
❥    Face board photo opportunities will not be available this year

ADMISSIONS
❥    The wrist band system will not be used this year to reduce contact requirements
❥    No admission fee is required for purchasing pumpkins or visiting vendors and food trucks
❥    Hayride, Maze, and trail admissions will be by purchased tickets

PUMPKIN WASHING
❥    Multiple stations will be available

CONTACTLESS PAYMENT
❥     We will encourage the use of credit cards in place of cash payments

After Pumpkin Pandemonium 2019

Following our closing for the 2019 Fall season we had about 600 corn stalk bundles with five or six ears of corn and almost two dozen large pumpkins remaining at Heritage Farms. All were donated to Purple Brown Farm, a CVNP  conservancy farm, located on Hines Hill Road on the south side of the road about half way between Riverview Road and Olde Eight.

The corn stalks and pumpkins were used to feed pigs and other critters on the Purple Brown Farm. Sasha Miller and family are growing a resilient and productive food forest, including cider apples, diverse fruits & nuts, veggies, herbs, flowers, mushrooms, and complimentary animal products. Their farm store is open seasonally and you can find them at the Howe Meadow Farmers Market in the summer.
